History

In the early 1950’s Mr ROGER DE CLERCK and his wife ANNE-MARIE, a Flemish family of flax farmers, took to selling upholstery fabrics for the many home weavers spread all over the countryside.

A few years later (1959) they set up their own weaving looms and Beaulieu Fabrics was born. The name ‘BEAULIEU’ (meaning “beautiful place”) was chosen from a bridge with that name not far from their farm along the river Lys.

Ten years later the original buildings had become too small and BEAULIEU FABRICS moved to a new industrial estate along the E17 highway where it’s still located together with several sister companies.

Today BEAULIEU FABRICS specializes in weaving upholstery fabrics in dobby and jacquard weaves. The Company has built up vast archives over the years, from which a highly skilled development team continuously creates new collections.

Goods are sold from Belgium all over Europe and the other continents.
